Day 11

Ron should be happy we have 4 sprouts from the watermelon seeds. I'm sure we will have more however I'm not sure where we will plant them all. The watermelon we planted last year went crazy and overtook a huge area. Not sure how I was convinced to plant 24 seeds. I may be giving away plants in a few more weeks.

As of today the sprouts are too tall for the plastic top of the mini-greenhouse. I re-read the instructions and I should have removed it already but it didn't seem to make a huge difference. I'm looking forward to even more progress.

The start of something yummy...

I am so proud of the progress I am seeing with the seeds we started last weekend. It's Day 9 and we have sprouts of Cucumber, Basil & Tomato. Watermelon is the only seed type that is yet to fully sprout. We invested $25.00 for a plant light and it's making a huge difference. Our garage may be turned into a little greenhouse in no time. If Ron travels too much more I may fill the Audi's side of the garage. I have a ton of seeds that I haven't started just yet, the instant gratification is pretty irresistible.

Here is a photo of Day 9. The cucumbers are the largest ones on the left, watermelon are the next seeds which haven't sprouted just yet and then you can see little Basil & Tomato sprouts. I can't wait to see them grow bigger so we can put them out in the garden. Hopefully they don't grow too fast or it won't be quite warm enough.
